Overview / Job Responsibilities:
The purpose of this requirement is to provide the SAF/AQX organization, and other Headquarters Air Force organizations, support in the development and maintenance of strategic plans, which will allow agencies to establish linkage among planning elements such as mission, vision, goals, objectives, strategies, and performance management initiatives. We will provide support in aligning organizational investments in people, technology and capital to the overall strategies while assisting in the development and articulation of the agencies strategic vision with corresponding mission, business, and performance measures.
The SME shall:
* Provide support to SAF/AQI in supporting the responsibilities of the Chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Committee for NATO Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). This position will provide day-to-day staff support to the Chairman to assist with the coordination with other NATO members of the committee and applying expertise in developing letters, briefings, and position papers on behalf of the Chairman.
* This position is in the Pentagon, and overseas travel will be required to accompany the Chairman and/or in support of the Chairman's responsibilities and will support meetings and briefings associated with and in support of the NATO AWACS Committee. The location of the travel is expected to be Brussels for approx. 7-10 days, three to four times a year.
* Provide experience and knowledge of acquisition, contractual and paralegal issues.
* Provide understanding and experience in NATO committee structure and consensus building in an international environment
* Provide experience and understanding of staff officer duties and actions.
* Provide understanding of AWACS weapon system.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's Degree plus 9 years of related experience OR Bachelor's Degree plus 11 years of related experience OR a High School Diploma plus 15 years of related experience;
* At least 10 years of experience supporting DOD programs;
* Ability to operate at senior levels of the DoD and at NATO;
* Ability to travel on short notice;
* Ability to travel OCONUS 3-4 times per year;
* Secret clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience supporting SAF/AQ, HQ USAF environment, or DoD
* Extensive AWACs and NATO experience.
