Chainalysis engineering strives to build great products and services and be a place where engineers can have a great career.
There is no formal PMO at Chainalysis. We strive for small teams that can drive projects to completion themselves (lead by an Engineering Manager and a Product Manager) and try to optimize for autonomy. That said, there are some projects that cut across multiple teams and require greater departmental coordination and communication. We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to help drive these projects. This position will be based out of New York, Washington D.C., London or Copenhagen, and will report to the VP of Engineering. Over time this role could grow to include managing other program or project managers, but as of now is a Senior IC role.
Working with multiple product, data and infrastructure engineering teams, drive to completion large programs of work. These programs usually include significant software, platform, tools and data initiatives. They may also include coordination with go-to-market and support teams.
Help each of the many teams develop and coordinate significant milestones, and manage dependencies across the teams.
Help each of the teams break bigger milestones into smaller pieces of work (helping reinforce our value of Radical Gradualism).
Develop a program-level risk register and manage a process for reviewing and updating.
Help develop a coarse grained ROI model for each program.
Develop and execute a communications strategy for the program that keeps all stakeholders apprised of progress and the company and employees excited about the work.
Work directly with product and engineering leadership team to highlight risks, dependencies and otherwise ensure alignment.
Provide updates to the executive team on a semi-regular basis.
Experience driving multi-team multi-month complex programs of work (and figuring out how to turn them into a series of meaningful smaller projects). Ideally you have multiple successful and unsuccessful experiences to draw upon.
Experience working in an agile SDLC. Most of our teams use 1-2 week sprints.
Experience working on major projects in a SAAS business where the complexities of the here-and-now get in the way of otherwise stable future plans.
Experience working with distributed teams, across multiple timezones (US and Europe).
Excellent communications skills in written and oral formats.
Detail oriented, but also able to see the big picture.
Good business acumen.
Good command of Confluence, Jira and GSuite.
You don't need to be a crypto expert but some exposure to cryptocurrency concepts will be helpful.
