We are seeking a self-motivated, outgoing laboratory professional with fabulous rapport building skills and technical abilities for a Laboratory Technical Training and Support Representative role. This is a great opportunity for personality too big to be trapped in the lab to break out into a customer facing technical support and training position. The Technical Customer Service Representative will be responsible for technical support of customers and staff, attending trade shows/industry events, assisting in training for clients & new hires and in-house quality and development laboratory testing. Our client is a global manufacturer of diagnostic laboratory equipment with a growing presence in the Westchester County area.
60-70% - Provide excellent customer support taking incoming support calls, performing customer cold calls, initiating service tickets and escalating issues as necessary to engineering support.
15-25% training in-house, off-site, attend industry exhibitions and events, travel to customer sites to perform analyzer installation and product training.
15% internal laboratory testing activities including, but not limited to, proficiency testing, product qualification studies, troubleshooting studies, customer correlation and various special studies.
Initiate, maintain and complete complaint tickets. Perform customer site assessments, necessary complaint and installation follow-up activities and maintain proper documentation.
Assist with new hire and sales representative training on products and equipment.
AS/BS degree in Biological Sciences or Medical Lab Sciences with 1-8 years of clinical laboratory experience
Adhere to department work schedule Monday - Friday alternating 8:00 am-5:00 pm / 9:00 am-6:00 pm and support of remote on-call telephone support (up to 7 day/month including 1 weekend day/week on alternating weeks - premium pay for this coverage).
Positive, outgoing personality with professional presentation and communication skills
Working knowledge of clinical systems including hardware, software, and reagents
Excellent telephone skills - enjoy managing inbound and outbound telephone calls from customers and sales representatives. Able to pleasantly provide technical assistance with laboratory operations and product related inquiries/issues following departmental SOP's.
Must be able to assist with lifting and transporting equipment of up to 100 pounds.
Strong desire to work effectively on a team and build a positive work environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Able to multitask, and prioritize work assignments
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Internet Explorer.
