Job Description

The primary focus of this position is ensuring that the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resource plans and programs are realized. Strong benefit expertise is a must as you will recommend, manage and implement benefit plans for our 8 offices and remote associates. Overall knowledge and experience in all function areas is also a necessity. This roll will be contributing to the development of our HR department goals, objectives and systems.

The right candidate must have the ability to work closely with others while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. You must be skillful in exercising administrative judgment while supporting the JM Wilson Corporation vision, our associates, policies and procedures. This position reports to the President.



Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but not limited to:

Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions arise, will be required to administer and execute routing tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Manages the talent acquisition process which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; develops, recommends, and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies for human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Manage all aspects of health and welfare benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, Employee Assistance Plan and ancillary medical benefits.
Manage the administration of the defined contribution 401(k) plan
Plans and conducts new employee HR orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Oversees performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervises Part-time HR Assistant
Key member on the company's Strategic Leadership Team

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one or two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Willing to travel to branch offices as needed.
