Key Responsibilities Understand the engineering design and operational aspects of Critical Infrastructure Systems and equipment in order to immediately recognize system issues and respond to operational and emergency situations.Mange the commissioning and acceptance of all critical infrastructure and MEP systems.Organize and manage all administrative functions related to the engineering group. This includes but is not limited to:Compliance with requisite local, state & federal safety training (All required OSHA Training) for all Engineering staff and contractorsBudgeting and financial controlCompliance with all local codes, rules, regulations and licensing requirementsEnsuring compliance with workflow managementTeam trainingTeam productivity monitoringReporting on budgets, energy accounting, and productivity Energy managementSupervise and organize all staff activities either directly or through effective delegation to subordinates. Included are activities such as:Organization of dispatch and response proceduresSchedule all Operations teams for proper client coverageSupport of MEP requirements for all Client eventsManagement of building services to 3rd party tenants as requiredDeveloping and motivating the teamAssist the Client in maintaining 100% uptime on all on-going projects or operationsDispensation of activities, projects, and routinesEstablishing and using chain of command proceduresInstilling a sense of pride and customer service in team membersImplementing hazard control and team safety practicesFully implement all standard operating systems and practices, including the following:Implementation and management of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Maintain team standards for uniforms and appearanceEstablish training goals for each team memberConduct all activities in a businesslike, competent, and professional manner. This includes:Interacting with contractors, vendors, and consultants in an unbiased, objective, and ethical manner.Complying with all policies and procedures established for the property.Identifying key industry resources that can aid the operation or contribute to enhancements.Treating all fellow employees, industry contacts, and property visitors fairly, impartially, and in a non-discriminatory fashion.Formulate and implement the preventive maintenance program. Specific duties include:Scheduling of preventive maintenance with minimum disruption of building services while completing in a timely manner.Performing and/or delegating preventive maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified staff memberCreation and input of the Preventive Maintenance Plan in the CMMS System (Corrigo)Reviewing the status of preventive maintenance on a regular basisAnalyzing preventive maintenance log data in order to formulate more efficient operating proceduresProvide training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the engineering assistants. Specific duties include:Demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instrumentsGiving hands on instruction in basic maintenance and trouble-shooting proceduresDeveloping work schedulesEvaluating job performance on an ongoing basisConducting annual progress reviewsRecommended enrollment in relevant outside coursesInstilling an overall professionalism in manner and appearanceScreening engineering staff candidatesService DeliveryUnderstands the applicable Service Level Agreements, helps achieve the Key Performance Indicators and scores favorably on the client satisfaction surveys.Ensures appropriate follow up with customersSeeks to continuously improve processes, systems and overall client satisfactionProvides direction/information to vendors, facilities staff and service providers as required to ensure excellent coordination/execution of work within client environment with minimal disruptionFinancial ManagementHelps support cost savings initiatives that affect the engineering budget.Creates and issues purchase orders as directed by managers. May be asked to reconcile/review invoices against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.Supports all requests associated with Management, Operations and Financial audits.Skills/QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Data Center Operations, or equivalent related life or Military experience preferred.Minimum of ten years of mission critical building engineering, facilities management, or related experienceMaintains and supports Commitment to Safe Operational Excellence.Ability to lead, train and inspire other engineers to perform at the highest level.Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalGood computer skills, proficient in MS Office and CMMS programs.Superior customer service skills and orientation. Collaborative style needed. Ability to maintain professionalism always under stressful situationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints, without direct supervision. Sound troubleshooting skills and the capacity to fully resolve problemsHolds applicable license(s) for site operationsStandby Power Generation operating experience and Critical Environment experienceManagement of the overall facility and all data center personnel.Project Management experience.Ensure adherence to all Client standard operating procedures, method of procedures, and emergency response procedures established for the mission critical environments and systems.Conduct routine and ongoing assessment of the infrastructure systems operations.
