RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client seeking a Director, Technical Accounting / External Reporting in New York, New York (NY). Summary: The client in New York is a leading entertainment/media firm and they are seeking a Director, Technical Accounting/External Reporting. They will establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures and determine the accounting treatment for specific accounting issues. The individual will become a technical accounting resource for the company. Additionally, the individual will assist in relevant areas of SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K). Responsibilities: Provide detailed technical accounting guidance for issues related to the company as needed, primarily regarding revenue, stock-based compensation, M&A and various treasury transactions Review initial and subsequent accounting for all company acquisitions (including valuations) and dispositions Provide accounting and structuring guidance for acquisitions, dispositions and other transactions Review and/or perform due diligence work on potential acquisitions Provide leadership in the development and improvement of accounting policy and procedures Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies to determine the impact on the company's financial accounting and reporting practices, i.e. FASB, SEC, AICPA, EITF, etc. Effectively communicate the impact of new accounting and reporting standards to senior management Work with external auditors on technical accounting issues Work with senior manager external reporting and policy in the review of SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K) REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA 8 years of experience, preferably in public accounting Corporate environment a plus Good work ethic Very well organized and detail oriented (i.e. will need to track own progress on several monthly tasks, etc.) Strong technical PC skills - Word and Excel required, Hyperion and SAP preferred Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
