What you'll do SAS is seeking innovative and dedicated individuals to join our growing US Consumer and Communications Division as a Sales Manager. We are specifically looking for Retail Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Consultants, Sales and Business Development candidates. This is a highly strategic position where you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of SAS's strategic corporate and business unit objectives and overall revenue growth. You will + Responsible for achievement of total software revenue target and management business objectives (MBOs) + Plan and implement growth plans for software, consulting services, and education services. + Direct management of sales and sales support activities for staff members to implement growth plans and sales activities. + Develop and implement marketing, sales and business development plans to exceed target levels. + Generate new business through strategic-based selling and managing relationships with key customers. + Assign appropriate sales goals and assignments to sales staff; determines optimal utilization of staff and resources to achieve sales goals. + Responsible for communication with sales management team to coordinate account strategies. + Responsible for hiring, directing and evaluating staff. + Work in conjunction with the Strategic Pricing Group to negotiate contracts and bids. + Formulate business plan to support the business development process. + Determine equitable sales assignments. + Responsible for timely and accurate forecasting (PTG) of software, consulting services, and education services. + Ensure team alignment toward BASE sales approach and utilization of Orion, Account Plans and Opportunity Plan development. + Implement strategies to help your team generate business development opportunities within the territory based on the multi-year account plan and the identified business needs of the client where SAS can address those needs. + Partner with cross functional teams including technical sales consultants, post sales consultants, SAS Executives, and SAS legal to navigate sales engagements and close opportunities when forecasted. + Accurately forecast revenues to ensure customer engagements will close when anticipated and at the forecasted value. Additional Responsibilities + Coordinate resources for specified sales methodology and promote and reinforce BASE selling concepts. + Lead sales representatives in meeting goals in day-to-day performance. + Interprets sales policies, advises sales executives in the handling of complicated sales and policy issues, and emphasizes the requirement for use of divisionally-adopted sales methodologies. + Accurately forecast new and renewal sales on a monthly and quarterly basis. + Hire and be involved in early and on-going training of new sales executives. What we're looking for + Minimum Bachelor's degree; preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or Retail Industry. + Minimum of eight years of experience within the Retail vertical, including two years in a leadership role, coordinating and/or supervising teams and projects within the technology industry. + Proven success building a book of business and client references through consulting engagements and business development efforts. + Existing relationships and professional network at various levels of client organizations. + Ability to travel as much as 50% or as business needs require. + Work location of New York or Chicago, IL is preferred to minimize required travel. Major cities within the Northeast and Midwest are also considered. Preferred + Knowledge, fluency and thought leadership within the Retail space. + General understanding of business, analytical, and technical concepts with the ability to communicate and relate SAS' capabilities to client needs. + Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. + Existing Partner contacts to support and surround the client's business. + Innately curious and passionate problem solver. + Growth mindset. + One team mentality.
