SYGMA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sysco Corporation, a Fortune 100 company, and one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States.Benefits:$2,500 Sign-On Bonus Available!Medical, dental and vision insurance401k and Stock Purchase PlanPaid Vacation and HolidaysTuition ReimbursementShort and Long Term Disability InsuranceJob Duties:Performs major and general mechanical repairs to SYGMA vehicles and reefer units including troubleshooting mechanical problems and identifying their solution in an effort to correct malfunctions and reduce further breakdowns.Follows PM schedules on all equipment.Completes repair of vehicles in accordance with DOT and State laws.Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on SYGMA vehicles.Maintains shop area by keeping tools and equipment picked up; cleaning up liquid spills; sweeping floor; dumping trash, and performing other related duties.Essential Skills and Knowledge:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Knowledge of basic welding and use of acetylene torch.Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBrake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesASE certifications Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred not required)EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC Refrigeration Certification (preferred not required)Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM s and component manufacturersTechnician must provide own and provide all tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnosticsClass A license preferredIf you are interested in working for SYGMA - Apply Today!
