This position within the North America Finance and Business Management team supports the strategic planning, annual budgeting, P&L management and monthly estimate deliverables for the MAC brand. This role is responsible for analysis on key investment areas within Selling, Advertising and Promotion that drive sales growth, investment choices and the strategic allocation of resources in addition to Gross Sales/Revenue and COGs. Partner with NA and Global Brand teams to develop the annual budget Participate in the development of long-range strategy, financial objectives and monitor performance vs. strategic objectives. Partner with NA Brand and cross functional Regional teams to develop monthly estimates; Lead estimate load processes Analyze monthly business results; Discover root causes to variances; Identify areas of opportunity and risk to future forecasts/estimates. Work with NA Brand Account Management team to plan, build and evaluate Retailer strategies and investment choices to deliver strategic objectives, improve customer profitability and manage tradeoffs between retail partners to maximize total brand profitability. Work closely with NA and Global Free Standing Store business and operations teams to ensure appropriate allocation of resources, evaluate changes in distribution (open/close locations), and drive door profitability and productivity Partner with NA Brand & Regional Marketing teams in developing, evaluating and monitoring investment choices in Advertising and Promotion to ensure the brand investment delivers optimum return in line with brand strategy. Partner with NA and Global Brand Marketing to evaluate the potential of new product launches and evaluate the post launch performance of new product. Ensure results and learnings are shared and incorporated into future launch investment and resource allocation decisions. Participate in NA monthly brand consensus and SI&OP meetings to improve planning accuracy and reduce inventory. Analyze cost of goods and provide recommendations for continued improvement in gross margin. Liaise with regional FP&A departments on commercialization, capital, demonstration, field selling, store operations, executive management reporting and other areas as needed to drive strategic objectives. Lead monthly financial meetings with all branded departments and functional areas. Monitor month-end close activities in partnership with NA region controllers group ensuring compliance with SOX 404 and GAAP guidelines. Train, develop, manage and mentor junior finance team members. Participate on cross-functional and/or finance dedicated North America Regional projects. Seek out or develop best practice and lessons learned from within the organization in order to assist brand partners in making better business decisions.
10+ years of financial planning and analysis experiences, MBA/CPA preferred Strong analytical skills required to perform value added FP&A responsibilities Ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional consensus Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Proficient in Excel and financial reporting systems Proactive individual looking continuously to take on additional responsibility and improve processes and procedures Experience in a fast-moving consumer products industry preferred Ability to work effectively both independently and in groups
