This is a place where you can stay way ahead as you do your life's best work. (sm)Prohealth has an immediate opening for a friendly, customer focused and detailed oriented RN to join our team. The nurse will work with clinical staff and leadership to develop and implement clinical trainings. This nurse will collaborate with other business segments to ensure compliance with regulations while improving workflows. Travel to regional sites will be part of this role. The position will work approximate 40 hours a week. (Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 or 8 to 4)The Regional Nurse Specialist will work closely with the clinical staff to ensure safe patient care is delivered. The Regional Nurse Specialist will ensure compliance with organizational, state and federal regulations. Additional responsibilities will include new hire training and annual staff competency review of clinical skills.Primary Responsibilities:* Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of organization and national standards and guidelines related to clinical compliance, patient safety, infection control / prevention, and CLIA waived testing and ensures compliance at the practice sites* Schedule periodic site visits to provide supervision, clinical expertise, ensure communication, and monitor the clinical aspects of the practice site* Participate in Practice Health and Safety Assessments. Assist in development of corrective action plans to minimize liability and risks as a result of the Practice Health and Safety Assessments* Collaborate with Director of Clinical Operations and Patient Safety to analyze trends in Assessment reports and identify opportunities for improvement and / or education Demonstrate respect for patients and ProHealth staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient confidentiality* Provide orientation and clinical training to all clinical staff through Clinical Staff Training program* Evaluate and document performance and competency of clinical staff, including sterilization, vital signs, medication administration, phone triage and CLIA waived testing* Support RMDs to provide support necessary changes to increase provider productivity and performance on quality measures* Work closely with Practice Managers to provide oversight for clinical coverage during staff outages* Support Patient Access Center call nurses* Maintains positive and supportive relationships with practice managers, providers and clinical staff; work closely with staff to identify and rectify workflow barriers* Supervision of tasks and outstanding orders for Internal Coverage providers* Provide education and training support to practice sites for internal and external regulatory and quality assessments* Periodic auditing of practice sites for compliance with adherence to clinical policies and procedures, quality metrics and standardized workflows* Performs all other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:* Professional education for nursing* Connecticut RN licensure, BSN is preferred (Active Unrestricted)* Knowledge of the Family or Pediatric or Internal medicine practice environment* 3 years of post-licensure nursing experience* 3 years of health delivery or service operations experience* Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations relating to clinical operations* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite* Demonstrated leadership abilityPreferred Qualifications:* Experience working on an electronic health recordSoft Skills:* Excellent communication skills with management, physicians, patients and staff* Ability to work independently, with strong time management skills* Strong written and oral communication skillsCareer with Optum.
