Description of Work

The successful candidate will be a skilled non-profit manager with exceptional marketing and audience development skills to support the Executive Director and the Hixson-Lied College business office in managing the Nebraska Repertory Theatres and Carson Schools internal operations. He/she will play a critical role in the strategic and organizational aspects of the theatre. Responsibilities include: promotion, publicity, community relations, management of the administrative offices, and marketing and supporting fundraising for the Nebraska Repertory Theatre and the Carson School. In close collaboration with the Executive Director, establishes and maintains policies and procedures for advertising, community relations, and grantwriting/fundraising. Maintains policies and procedures for front of house operations, securing fair use of copyrighted materials, and coordinating events management related to patron and audience development.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Theatre or related field plus 3 years of related experience and knowledge in the areas of marketing, front of house operations, and database management and analysis required; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have supervisory experience. Must have superior attention to detail. Must be a strategic thinker. Demonstrated leadership ability in planning marketing and communication strategies for a variety of communication platforms including publications, websites, social media, and email campaigns necessary. Must have strong organizational skills and consistently meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong professional relationships essential. Excellent writing, editing and interpersonal communications skills required. Must be flexible, adaptable and have demonstrated ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree preferred. Proficiency in a variety of software tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and web content management systems desirable. Familiarity with UNL brand standard helpful. Experience working with Actors Equity Association contracts and/or in a university setting preferred.
