Wind River is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the identification and delivery of new product solutions to customers in the Software Vendor channel.
This position will be responsible for market and customer research, understanding the competitive landscape, the identification of new opportunities, and providing strategic input to growth strategies.
The Product Manager will oversee all stages of the product lifecycle and works effectively with internal and external colleagues to support that process.
Success Characteristics of a Technical Product Manager: Knowledge of software integration and related technology, and a deep understanding of the needs of customers who develop software. Hands-on experience with API product management in the payments or financial services space. Working knowledge of A/R, A/P products and uses within the industry. Intellectual curiosity, and a passion for developing new, high-impact products. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and coordinate work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities as a Technical Product Manager: Conducts market research, analyzes results, and summarizes findings. Identifies new opportunities and solutions, and estimates revenue potential. Provides strategic input on growth strategies based on identified opportunities and solutions. Develops and maintains strong relationships with product vendors and other external partners. Assesses the competitive landscape, identifies potential partners, and determines the most effective product strategy (build, "rent", or partner) to execute on company objectives in the ISV vertical. Manages the formal rollout of all products to ensure a seamless, well-executed product introduction that avoids overlap and confusion within the organization. Develops and guides marketing programs for product rollouts. Serve as internal and external evangelist; which includes demos and presentations. Interfaces with internal and external engineers, designers, suppliers and customers to develop product requirements and specifications. Establishes product strategies including product direction, marketing, pricing, expense budgets, profit plans and future product development to manage a product life cycle.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IS, Development, Business or related field or equivalent experience. 3+ years of product and/or brand management experience, preferably within a software company. 2+ years of payment expertise, preferably with Gateways and Terminals.
Knowledgeable in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
